Last week, I had my lunch with a new friend
of mine at Palm Court, one of the restaurant at the newly opened Four Seasons
Hotel Jakarta-Gatot Subroto. You might heard this five stars hotel before when
it was still resided at Kuningan, and now they’re move to Gatot Subroto area
with new concepts. My visit was short that time so this is only a short review of what I had in Palm Court and a little sneek peek of what the new Four Seasons has in store.
Palm Court is a social, all-day dining room that
offers a true immersion into the world of Four Seasons, Palm Court exudes
modern, sophisticated style and innovative culinary talent, all while making
guests feel at ease.
It's all indeed that Palm Court will be the new sophisticated all-day dining restaurant with great ambiance and service. I was so impressed by their grand design, a rotunda dining room with high-back green armchairs, which my friend called it as "the King's Chair" and of course their majestic chandelier, hanging from the 13-metre (43-foot) cupola ceiling inspired by the Bismarck Palm Tree. They have also an outside area with lush gardens' view completed by a terrace and lounging pavilions. All these area both indoor and outdoor were perfectly designed not only as an all-day dining for the in-house guests but also opened publicly for people who wish to have a great lunch with business associates, relax over afternoon high tea or simply have a sumptuous dinner before coming back home.
Palm Court offers contemporary dishes inspired by flavors and ingredients from Indonesia and beyond. I could see a range of Western dishes here from fresh salad, pasta, to a tasty steak and touch of Indonesian from laksa, rendang into wok-fried nasi goreng in an upscale style. They also serve a range of wine and creative cocktails during the evening hours. If you look at the above picture, you might wonder where the buffet tables are? Well, this is the thing people should note about Palm Court. They're not an ordinary all-day dining restaurant as you can see in most of the hotels, Palm Court serve dining in an ala carte way (for lunch and dinner) but people could still enjoy an all you can eat dining similar to others hotel's all-day dining restaurant for breakfast with a special breakfast menu.
Tuna Tartare - 195K
The best thing about this resto is they really concern about the appearance of their food, thus people won't feel that they're dining in an all-day dining restaurant. They even made this simple appetizer very impressive with a dry ice show. I really love this Tuna Tartare, made from fresh and juicy tuna, moist avocado, tomato, nori chips and soy lime dressing which made overall taste of this dish was super refreshing for opening my lunch.
Indonesian Lobster Laksa - 375K
I never expected that lobster could be this good combined with laksa. This Indonesian Lobster Laksa was incredibly delicious. Everything I expect of good laksa was presented here. Tasty broth with thick coconut milk, super juicy lobster meat and good condiments from fried shallots, leeks, lime, to a tasty Indonesian sambal. No wonder this one became one of Palm Court's signature dish.
Grilled US Prime Beef Tenderloin - 520K
A 200gr grilled US prime beef tenderloin served with mashed potato, roasted vegetables, and peppercorn sauce. Juicy and tender with signature sauce, who will complaint for this tasty dish?!
Drinks
Try their Coconut Yoghurt and surprisingly it was so yummy. A mix of plain yogurt with coconut water and milk. I could taste a twist of salty and sweet in the same time but super refreshing. And oh, even their Iced Tea was also unique, they used a real iced tea cube for best sensation of iced tea. Cool idea!
Overall, I really enjoy having lunch here. I feel like nothing to complaint from the service, food to price. They're all well-worth for a sophisticated and luxury service in this newly opened hotel. I should back here to try their room. It's totally super beautiful and impressive room and hotel designed I've ever saw! Psssst, all of their room was a suite room. It's a very well-worth spend if you stay here, pay deluxe, get suite. Good deals right!
