Nikmatnya Si Legendaris Sate Maulana Yusuf, Bandung

0 komentar

But then, that's a true legend, masih bertahan sampai sekarang meskipun zaman berkembang.

Singkatnya, meluncurlah saya ke Jalan Maulana Yusuf, tepatnya No. 21 disamping Gereja GKI.

So, here they are our orders:

Sate Sapi - IDR35,000/10 tusuk

Look at that freakin big beef slices!! Akkkh gila, this is real BOMB! Pssst, disini kita bisa 'refill' sambal kacang sesukanya lho! jadi kalau suka banget sama sambal kacangnya, sok minta nambah aja sama si mamang hihihi...

Gado-Gado - Rp18,000

Asiknya sih mereka menambahkan selada segar daaaan I'm in love with their peanut sauce. Everything in the plate was just refreshing and decent!

Well, I was suuuper satisfy with Sate Maulana Yusuf.

Salam Sumpah Pemuda. Hidup Kuliner Indonesia!!

Kushiya Monogatari: The first 'Do-It-Yourself' Japanese Skewers Style Buffet, Central Park Mal

1 komentar

After succeeded with their first Indonesian's outlet at the hippest AEON Mal, BSD, Kushiya Monogatari mow opened their first branch at Central Park Mal, Jakarta. If you are a food lover or social media freak, you must be now about this all you can eat restaurant which bring not only buffet style but they introduce the first 'Do-It-Yourself ' style to the society. This Japanese based restaurant offering the unique way to enjoy Japanese's skewers (kushiage style) by frying it in our own way. Every table was provided with deep fryer that has already set into 170 degrees (we're not allowed to change it since it's the correct and best temperature to fry the skewers) with easy cooking manual. I was freakin happy to see the way this restaurant bring their unique concept. This is my first time to try them and so excited when seeing so many selections of skewers they have in house.

The selection of skewers are ranging from taiyaki, takoyaki, beef and fish, mushrooms, spring roll, chicken, into some vegetables such as pumpkin, potato and sweet potato. Aside the skewers as the main specialty, they also provide buffet of appetizers (salad), main course (chicken kaarage, miso soup) and desserts (chocolate fondue, ice cream, fruits and puddings. Lucky me, since they switch the menu every 3 months, I got a chance to try their new menu this month yaaay!. There are selections of sushi, main course such as Tanindon, Chicken Katsu, Chicken Teriyaki, Omurice and Yakisoba and some new desserts such as waffle and frozen drinks.

Skewers fiesta!

New menu this month!

Frozen drinks in Grape & Fruit Punch flavors. Refreshing! I love the grape one!

So, after hunting for the skewers, this is what I do!

#1 - Dip the skewers into the tempura batter
#2 - Dip the skewers into the breadcrumbs (these ingredients are provided in buffet table)
#3 - Fry the skewers into the frying machine and have fun yay!

Tips from the waiter, for the best result we don't allowed to put more than 5 skewers at once into the deep fryer and do not fry longer than the suggested timing. FYI, each skewers have their frying time suggestion such as 1 - 1,5 minutes for konyaku, king oyster mushrooms, squid, and fish paste cake; 2 minutes for beef, fish, shrimp, chicken, lotus root, taiyaki, and takoyaki and 3 minutes for sweet potato, potato, pumpkin. Special for taiyaki I don't need to dip it into the batter and breadcrumbs. Just fry the way it is.

My favorites would be the mini TAIYAKI! It's filled with the sweet red bean which turned to be so addicting! Can't stop munching of them! Another favorites was the fish paste cake, the angry bird cake, beef and squid. For the side menu I found the sushi was decent while the others just so so. And oh, to enjoy the skewers we can also choose the sauces, ranging from Yuzu Shoyu, Worcester Sauce, Caesar Dressing, Chili Sauce, Tonkatsu, Thousand Island, etc. My favorites would be the light Yuzu Shoyu and Thousand Island!

Overall, I really enjoy the 'Do-It-Yourself' concept though sometimes I couldn't wait longer for my Taiyaki to be ready hahaha. You can also enjoy this all you can eat buffet with only IDR128,000++ for adults on weekday (duration for 90 minutes) and IDR148,000++ on weekend (duration for 70 minutes), while children below 10 could enjoy the lower price of IDR98,000++. A super worth deal for your snacking time. So, congratulations Kushiya Monogatari for your first branch. Wish you all the best in the future!

[NEW MENU] Pasta House AW Kitchen by Akira Watanabe, Plaza Senayan

As a food blogger, I keep watching the growth of new restaurants joint in Jakarta. Some of them bring something big, and some bring just a name. I appreciate more the restaurant which from its opening not only bring something new and big but also a name and brand with memorable impression inside to keep myself coming back under those new restaurant's invasion. Sadly, there's only a few of them with those achievements on my list, one of them is Pasta house AW Kitchen by Akira Watanabe (AW Kitchen). This baby has growing bigger and stable since I heard their name coming to town around 2014 brought by Jaddi Foods Group. FYI, in case you still don’t know about this baby, AW Kitchen is owned by famous celebrity chef in Tokyo, Japan, Akira Watanabe. Their first outlet was opened in Nakameguro and now spreading 9 outlets around Japan. The outlet in Jakarta is their first outlet opened outside the Cherry blossom’s land.

Naming as Pasta House, AW Kitchen is not entirely offering pasta; their concept is offering authentic Italian cuisine with Japanese ingredients. Sounds interesting, right? The menu is ranging from cold and hot appetizer, cold and hot pasta, pizza, main dish with selections of fish and meat and dessert. That’s why, although I missed their launching that day, I keep coming by myself to this unique restaurant. I found their concept was too interesting too be missed out as well as their restaurant ambiance. Designed with Italian modern style, AW Kitchen divided into two areas, smoking (front area) and non-smoking (back area and private room) with classic yet chic and colorful table chosen to beautify the room. Completed by hanging and unique rattan lamps illuminating the restaurant with dim light, this restaurant became a casual place to have lunch in the day and a very romantic place to have dinner or dating in the night. I’m sooo in love with their ambiance.

Well, nufsaid about the prologue of this baby, now I’m gonna share you what makes me keep coming back to this restaurant? Absolutely their FOOD! Ever since I attended their anniversary on August 2015 back then, I impressed with their service and food. Everything here was the same until my next and third visit. Still polite and humble service, everything’s home-made and fast and of course the food, oh God, none of them was disappointing me. So, here’s my recommendation for you to try if you happened to visit AW Kitchen. Pssst…some of them are new menu which has recently launched on this October!

APPETIZER

Yellow-tail Carpaccio with Yuzu Pepper Dressing - New

This cold appetizer is one of the new menu of this October 2015. You know why I love AWK so much? This cold appetizer is the answer. I rarely found restaurant serving a plate of cold appetizer except fresh salad and when AWK serving this it’s like a plate of full refreshment for me. Look at this beautiful appetizer. Fresh yellow-tail fish paired with salmon roe, flying fish roe, fresh vegetables and light Yuzu pepper dressing. I simply can't get enough this one!

Dory Fish Beccafico - New

Categorized as hot appetizer, though I rarely found a dory fish consumed as appetizer, this new menu was also stealing my appetite. Well-fried and crunchy dory fish with tender meat inside completed by refreshing sprinkles of onion and raisin which give me a hint of sweet after a quite salty dory. A unique combination in a plate!

PASTA & RISOTTO

Risotto in Ikasumi Sauce – 88K

I was skeptical with something with squid ink not only it turned to be not impressive in presentation but also the fishy smell was sometimes ewww you know what I mean, right. But Akira Watanabe brilliantly crafted this Risotto into something creamy without fishy smells and addictive! Never thought that Risotto could be that freakin good with squid ink. Completed with fresh slices of squid, tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese on top this baby is A SUPER MUST TRY!

Maltagliati with Chicken Tomato Sauce - New

If you're an Italian food lover this pasta will bring the authentic tomato flavor to your taste. Shaped home-made by the Chef, this Maltagliati ( a pasta made from scrap pieces of pasta, comes in different shape) was well-cooked with rich tomato sauce and juicy and tender chicken. A perfect pasta for you who seek for something more 'bold' for lunch or dinner.

Trofie Arrabiata - New

And if you need something light but addictive, you SHOULD try this pasta! Frankly speaking this pasta was THE BOMB! Comes in short and thin-rolled shape with eggplant, fresh cherry tomato and beef bacon, this pasta appeared chewy but a very fun to munch. The arrabiata sauce, moreover, delivered lighter flavor of tomato sauce which immediately give me a room to munch more! (FYI, I'm a creamy pasta lover, sometimes I avoid pasta with tomato sauce, but this one is EXCEPTIONAL hahaha). Suppa duppa love this Trofie!!!

Beef Agnolotti with Butter Cheese Sauce - New

When it's being cooked, I could smell the aroma of the butter and cheese from this pasta. Unfortunately, it's not as creamy as I wanted to be maybe because the butter sauce is more dominant than the cream. But overall, this pasta was decent. I love the filing, juicy beef with shot of savory from the ricotta cheese.

MAIN DISH - BEEF & FISH

Garlic Herb Lamb Back – 198K

This one is my hubby’s favorite. A good portion of roasted lamb back with potato gratin and mixed grilled vegetables. I also simply love this one the perfect combination of juicy and tender meat with Porcini sauce with shot of sweet and sour in time.

Black Angus Tenderloin Beef - 248K

This Black Angus Tenderloin Beef was served with potato gratin, fresh vegetables and two types of sauce Porcini (mushroom) and Wasabi sauce. Among the two, Wasabi sauce turned out to be my favorites. I didn't expect that the strong flavor of wasabi will turn to be something good in this tender beef. It's not as hot and spicy as I thought before. Just refreshing and perfect for the beef!

Sauteed Salmon with Spicy Salsa Sauce - 198K

As a salmon lover, this pan-fried salmon was pretty divine. Complete with the refreshing salsa sauce, I simply in love with this baby!

Overall, I really enjoy my time here. Until my third visit during this year, I always satisfy with their service and food. The staff from the front-liner to the back was treat me well. I even didn't matter with their upscale price since everything I got here was worth to pay for. If I asked you whether it's a real worth to try, I suggest you to try. Since this is my personal opinion, only you can decide whether this restaurant will be the winner among the business. For me, they've already win, at least in my heart #cieeeh. Well, thank you for always treating my tummy well AW Kitchen. Wish you a best luck in the future!

Dim Sum Feast Buffet at Grand Mercure Maha Cipta Jakarta Harmoni

0 komentar

Last Saturday, I was honoured to be invited by Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni, this time not to explore the hotel but to experience their dining. This is my first time after a looooong time never made a visit to Harmoni area. Fortunately, reaching this four-plus-star hotel was way easy since it was located in one of central business district of Jakarta, Hayam Wuruk where museums, tourist attractions, historical places, and traditional culinary area resided.

FYI, Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni belongs to Accor Group in line with the well-known hotels such as Ibis and Novotel. This hotel offers 483 marvellously designed guest rooms and suites with one restaurant and two lounges and equipped with meeting facilities as well as sport and recreation centre. I had my short hotel tour and found this hotel was stylish in a classic way. The ambiance is truly represents that this hotel is not only elegant but also luxurious in a simple way. Since I didn’t stay here, I couldn’t give you my stying experience and photos more. Maybe later when I have a chance, I’ll pay a visit and stay here.

So to sum up, after the hotel tour, I proceeded to the one and only Harmoni Square in 1st Floor which actually functioned also as their all-day-dining restaurant. This wide restaurant has 130 seats capacity with elegant and chic designed and semi-open kitchen where you can see the live cooking show. The buffet of this restaurant offer wide selections of appetizer such as salad and soup, main course such as porridges, lamian, noodles, vegetables, etc., desserts with tempting cakes, puddings and pastries and of course dim sum buffet! Yup, the last one is the star I’m gonna review in this post. Before that I'm gonna give you the sneak peek of the restaurant's buffet. Get ready to drool!!

Appetizer Buffet (Soup, Salad, Fruits)
Beautiful fruits carving

Traditional 'Rujak'. Super refreshing!

This Salad Padang was so sooo delicious! A MUST TRY!

Beef Salad

Dessert Buffet

This Mango pudding was soooo addictive! Creamy and sweet!

The 'it' Blackforest. Super DAYUM!

Main Course
Peking Duck & Grilled Chicken was also decent!

Dim Sum Buffet

This month, Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni provides buffet feast “all you can eat” dim sum at Saturday and Sunday only starting from 11.00 AM to 03.00 PM. In this mouth-watering promotion, there will be more than 40 variant of dim sum from the steamed dim sum such as Hakaw, Cheong Fen, Siomau, Cha Siu Pao, Lomakai, Fung Cahaw, Steamed Lumpia, etc., to the fried dim sum such as Lopakaw, Fried Shrimp Dumpling, Vegetable Spring Roll, Wotie, Tankachai, etc. All of them is only for IDR168,000 nett/person. A super worthy deal, right!

One of  the best Hakaw ever!

Siomay with chicken

Bakpao filled with matai seeds

Bakpao Crystal filled with kucai leaves

Fried Dim Sum

All of those almost 40 selections, my favourites would be their Hakaw and Siomay. For me personally, their textures were not only soft but also appear like crunchy in every bite! Nevertheless, overall their dim sum was pretty decent. And oh their desserts also, I’m in love with their Blackforest Cake. It’s way too different with the usual Blackforest, the texture was way similar with cheese cake, super moist like an ice cream!

So, thank you Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni for giving me this enjoyable dining experience. Can’t wait to hear the other great deals from Harmoni Square. Success and keep making delicious dim sum!
