Valentine is coming! Whether you are celebrating or not, just
admit it that this month is full of people talking about love. What to give and
what's not on the day. If you're the one who celebrate it especially with your
loved one, you might consider to invite him/her to a dinner. Well it sometimes
tricky to choose a place with fancy but provide affordable dinner price. Well,
let me help you to choose a place which will become your perfect idea for
having Valentine's dinner.
It's Oh La La café, a very well-known French Casual Dining café which I believe you’ve already know them since their stores spread almost in 33 locations in Indonesia and mostly at a big mall. This sweet month, they present a Valentine Special Set Menu with a fantastic price of IDR250,000++ for two! The menu includes 1 set of appetizer, main course and dessert.
The appetizer is served as a snack platter consists of
Deep Fried Mozzarella Stick with Marinara Sauce and Gratin Chicken Avocado
Bruschetta with Salsa and Baked Potato Jacket (unfortunately on that day, I
couldn’t taste the appetizer). The main course offers five tantalizing menu that you
both can choose i.e. Roast Chicken with Scallop Potato & Ratatouille,
Grilled Dory with Primavera Sauce and Pasta Pesto, Beef Wellington with Scallop
Potato and Mixed Vegetables, Spaghetti Sambal Matah and Sirloin Beef Teriyaki with
Mixed Vegetables.
All of the sounds mouth-watering but I could only choose two hehehe. So, I picked Spaghetti Sambal Matah for me and Roast Chicken with Scallop Potato and Ratatouille for my hubby. I was lucky for having the spaghetti with sambal matah, which for me became an impeccable east meet west recipe. The sambal matah, a special sauce from Bali brought a super fresh aroma and taste on the spaghetti. The lemon fragrant on the sauce was so rich and not too hot while the dory was also well-cooked. I simply love this one.

The Roast Chicken with Scallop Potato and Ratatouille was also tantalizing albeit the almost cold scallop potato, the chicken was roasted well. The scallop inside the potato was smell good with a super tasty and creamy mushroom sauce. Overall, this dish is good, but you might ensure that the scallop potato is served hot.
As a closing, Assorted Slices of Cake was served to
share. It consists of 4 small cakes with different flavor: strawberry cake,
mango cake, opera cake, and lemon cake. I love the texture of the opera, it
served cold with rich of dark chocolate flavour. Others were mostly like sponge
cake with soft texture and fruit flavours. Simple for closing.
You can enjoy the dinner like my hubby and I did at
all branches of Oh La La Café starting from 8 to 24 February 2014. FYI, now you
